Why debossing on a planner in Cyprus
A corporate planner is a high-perceived-value gift — it gets opened daily, lives on a desk for 12 months, and is the kind of object a recipient keeps rather than discards. A debossed mark on the cover is a permanent impressed detail that does not flake, scuff or fade with handling. A Limassol luxury hotel commissioned 150 debossed PU planners for its year-end VIP guest amenity, in matte-black PU with the hotel's monogram debossed on the front cover. Stocks and finishes
Standard stock is PU leather (anthracite, navy, black, taupe) at 1.4 mm thickness, sourced through a Limassol upholsterer. Premium stock is recycled leather (apple-leather, cactus-leather) at 1.6 mm, sourced through a Paphos supplier — sustainability-credentialed for IB schools and ESG-reporting institutions. Kraft cover at 400 gsm is the eco-tier — debosses cleanly and ships with a GRS hangtag. Paper stock is 80 gsm cream woodfree, 100 gsm Munken Pure for the premium tier, and 90 gsm recycled for the eco-tier. Page formats are annual diary, weekly vertical, weekly horizontal, daily, and custom 6-month project planners.
Production specifics
Debossing is a hot-press operation: a magnesium or brass die is heated to 110–140°C and pressed into the cover board at 8–12 tonnes for 1.5–2.5 seconds. Die cost is €45–€120 per design, dependent on size — a 60×60 mm logo die is €45, a full-cover pattern is €120. Standard production is single-position deboss on the front cover; a second position (back cover, spine) is +€0.30 per planner. Variable-data debossing (a unique name per planner) is €0.80 per planner above the 50-unit baseline. The planner is bound with PUR adhesive on the spine for a 180° lay-flat opening, and includes a sewn-in ribbon marker and a back-pocket envelope.
Bundling and packaging
Planners ship in individual rigid mailers (€0.85 per mailer uplift). Awards-night and VIP-gift deliveries are wrapped in black velvet presentation sleeves at €3.20 per unit. Bulk orders of 100+ planners are packed 12 per master carton. A Nicosia family office required 80 planners individually wrapped and shipped in custom wooden crates — €185 one-off for the crates was the label price.
