Why 3D printing on a trophy in Cyprus
A traditional trophy is a machined metal or cast resin figure on a marble base — a stock shape that the recipient cannot keep unique. A 3D-printed trophy is a sculpted piece shaped to your event, with a recessed name panel and a base in wood or marble. A Limassol gaming-event organiser commissioned 200 SLA-printed trophies for a Counter-Strike regional finals, each with the team logo raised at 2 mm and the team name recessed below. Cast resin would have been a stock shape; UV printing on metal would have been flat. SLA was the only method that held the geometry and gave each team a piece that looked like it belonged to their event. Cost €24 per trophy on a 180×60×60 mm SLA clear resin piece, finished and painted, 200 units, 14 business days.
Resins, filaments and trophy sizes
Standard SLA is clear or white resin (Phrozen Aqua-Gray 8K, Siraya Fast Meow) at 50-micron layer height. Premium SLA tough resin (Siraya Tenacious) is +€6 per trophy; it survives a handling stress that clear resin would chip on. FDM in PETG (eSUN PETG Pro) is the workhorse for opaque-colour runs — a Nicosia school ordered 80 FDM PETG trophies for its sports day in three colours. Trophy heights range from a 120 mm desk piece to a 280 mm display trophy; larger display items are quoted as display pieces. Bases are beechwood, walnut, or black marble — 80×80×20 mm for desk pieces, 120×120×30 mm for display pieces.
Production specifics
SLA on a Phrozen Sonic Mighty 8K at 50-micron (high-detail) or 100-micron (draft) layer height. Cycle is 4–14 hours per trophy depending on volume. FDM on a Prusa i3 MK4 in PETG at 200-micron layer height, 60–180 minutes per part. Both technologies print directly from an STL or OBJ file. Post-processing is hand work: support removal, sanding from 220 to 1000 grit for a polished clear face, primer, paint, optional metallic leaf or chrome-effect lacquer, and the trophy affixed to the base with a recessed M4 stud and marine-grade epoxy. A finished SLA trophy survives 10+ years of indoor display.
Bundling and packaging
Trophies ship in individual rigid corrugated boxes with closed-cell foam inserts (€2.40 per box uplift). Awards-night deliveries are wrapped in black velvet presentation sleeves at €3.20 per unit. Bulk orders of 20+ trophies are packed 6 per master carton. A Paphos esports event required 80 trophies individually wrapped and labelled by team — €0.45 per piece for the team label and €1.20 per piece for the foam insert was the uplift.
Runs, lead times and budgets
MOQ is 5 trophies for a custom 3D shape; 1 unit is possible on a stock shape. Lead time is 12–18 business days: 2 days design prep, 3–7 days print cycles, 3–5 days post-processing and paint, 2 days assembly, QC and pack-out. EUR per unit at 50 pieces on a 180×60×60 mm SLA-printed trophy with paint and metallic leaf, on a beechwood base: €24 (SLA clear resin) to €38 (SLA tough resin). Setup fee €65 per 3D model setup; subsequent runs of the same file have no setup fee. All quotes EUR net, Cyprus VAT 19% added for taxable buyers.

When a 3D-printed trophy is the right choice
3D-printed trophies are the right call for runs of 5 to 500 pieces on a custom event-specific shape. Below 5 pieces, a hand-finished piece from a Limassol sculptor is often more economical and more durable. Above 500 pieces, the SLA queue becomes a constraint — we will quote an injection-moulded or cast-resin alternative and SLA in parallel so you can see the crossover. We have run both: a Limassol gaming-tournament organiser ran 200 SLA trophies in 2024 and 600 cast-resin trophies in 2025 when the event expanded; both runs shipped on time.

Can the finish include metallic colours like gold, silver or bronze?
Yes — paint and metallic leaf (gold, silver, copper, bronze) are available at +€4 per trophy. The finish is applied by hand on a primed surface and sealed with a matte or gloss topcoat.
How durable is a 3D-printed trophy?
SLA clear resin with a UV-stable topcoat survives 10+ years of indoor display. The piece should not be left in direct sun or in a car dashboard — the resin will yellow and the metallic leaf will tarnish within 18 months.
