DTF printing on polos in Cyprus
DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing on cotton, poly-cotton and rPET polo shirts — Pantone-matched full colour on dark and textured piqué. MOQ 30, Limassol production, 7–10 business days, EUR quotes.
Why DTF on a polo in Cyprus
Embroidery on a polo is compact, durable and reads as premium — but embroidery cannot carry photographic detail, gradients or full-colour brand images. Screen printing on a polo is fast and cheap — but screen printing cannot reproduce photographic detail on a textured piqué surface, and the ink hand-feel reads as a stiff patch on the piqué weave. DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing on a polo is a heat-pressed transfer that carries photographic full-colour at the same unit price, with a soft hand-feel and no minimum colour count. A Limassol fintech commissioned 400 DTF-printed polos for its new-account welcome kits, in 65% polyester 35% cotton piqué with the firm's full-colour crest. Embroidery could not carry the photographic detail; screen printing flaked off the piqué surface within 4 washes. Cost €22 per polo on a 200 gsm cotton-poly piqué polo with full-colour DTF on the chest, 400 units, 8 business days.
Polo stocks and finishes
Standard polo is 65% polyester 35% cotton piqué at 200-220 gsm in black, navy, charcoal, white, or heather grey. Premium polo: 100% organic cotton piqué at 220 gsm (GOTS-certified). Eco polo: 50% recycled cotton 50% recycled polyester at 200 gsm (GRS-certified). All polos sourced through Stanley/Stella, Continental Clothing or SOL's, with a 3-button placket, a flat-knit collar and cuffs, and side-seam slits. Sizing is XS-3XL. Custom polo options include a contrasting inner placket (€1.20 per polo) and a contrast collar (€1.50 per polo).
Production specifics
DTF is a 2-step operation. Step 1: print the artwork in CMYK plus white on a DTF film (PET film) using a DTF printer (Epson SureColor F2270) at 1,440 dpi. Step 2: hot-press the film onto the polo chest at 165°C for 15 seconds using a heat-press. Setup is €45 per design — covers film prep and colour-profile calibration. Standard production is a single 80×80 mm DTF print on the chest (left-chest position). A larger 200×250 mm chest print is +€1.20 per polo. A second position (back, sleeve) is +€2.40 per polo.
Bundling and packaging
Polos ship in individual 200 µm poly bags with a 30 gsm non-woven handle (€0.30 per bag uplift). Welcome-kit and corporate-gift deliveries are wrapped in 25 gsm acid-free tissue and presented in a rigid corrugated box with a magnetic closure and a satin ribbon in the firm's secondary colour (€1.85 per box uplift). Bulk orders of 100+ polos are packed 50 per master carton on a 60×40×40 cm corrugate, dispatched on a EUR-pallet from the Limassol warehouse.

Why DTF over embroidery and screen on a polo
Embroidery on a polo is compact, durable and reads as premium — but embroidery cannot carry photographic detail, gradients or full-colour brand images. Screen printing on a polo is fast and cheap — but screen printing cannot reproduce photographic detail on a textured piqué surface, and the ink hand-feel reads as a stiff patch on the piqué weave. DTF printing on a polo is a heat-pressed transfer that carries photographic full-colour at the same unit price, with a soft hand-feel and no minimum colour count. Embroidery will be quoted if your brief calls for a compact premium mark; screen printing if your brief calls for a 1-2 colour flat logo on a light cotton polo; DTF is the standard for photographic full-colour on dark or textured piqué.
Frequently asked questions
What is the largest DTF print size on a polo?
The standard maximum DTF print size is 200×250 mm — a large chest print on a polo. Most corporate corporate applications use an 80×80 mm left-chest print; second position (back, sleeve) adds +€2.40 per piece.
Can DTF hold photographic detail and gradients?
Yes — DTF printing on cotton, poly-cotton and rPET polo piqués carries photographic detail and gradient at 1,440 dpi. Photographic covers, gradient backgrounds and brand-image artwork are all within the standard capability of a DTF printer.
Can DTF include metallic or fluorescent colours?
Limited — standard DTF is CMYK plus white. Metallic gold and silver are available as a fifth spot colour at +€0.85 per polo, but the result is a printed metallic effect, not a foil-shine. For a true metallic shine, embroidery with metallic thread is the right method.
How durable is a DTF print on a polo in daily use?
DTF print on a cotton-poly polo survives 50+ industrial wash cycles to ISO 6330 and 2+ years of daily carry. The print is scuff-resistant and survives UV exposure for 18+ months. The hand-feel is softer than screen print and stiffer than dye-sublimation.
Is Corp Merch a partner or official supplier of any polo brand?
No — Corp Merch is an independent Limassol-based corporate-merch producer. We do not claim partnership, sponsorship or official affiliation with any polo brand, fabric brand or merchandising supplier. All product names and brand references on this page are used for technical compatibility only.
Can each polo carry a unique name or number?
Yes — variable-data DTF printing is included at no extra cost above the 30-unit baseline. We run the variable data as a single spot in the artwork (a name, a number, a date) and serialise against your recipient list.
