Branded jackets — Cyprus
Softshell, padded and 3-layer rain jackets for Paphos outdoor crews, Troodos winter teams and Nicosia logistics. Embroidered branding, runs from 20 units, 14–18 working days.
Why a branded jacket is the highest-investment piece you'll issue
A jacket is the single most expensive corporate apparel item, the longest production lead time, and the most visible piece of uniform a Cypriot team wears. It also has the longest useful life — three to five years for a well-made softshell, two to three for a padded bomber — which means the buyer has to think harder about fit, fabric and decoration than they do for any other piece. A bad jacket purchase sits in a cupboard for five years reminding everyone of the mistake.
Three main categories carry almost all Cyprus corporate demand: 3-layer softshell (the workhorse for outdoor and logistics roles, windproof and water-resistant), padded bomber / puffer (the customer-facing gifting and cold-storage roles), and 2.5-layer rain jacket (the event and welcome-kit piece that folds into its own pocket). Each has a clear use case; mixing them up is the most common buyer error.
Fabric and construction details that matter
A proper 3-layer softshell has a 94/6 poly-spandex face, a TPU membrane in the middle (5,000 mm waterproof / 3,000 g/m² breathability minimum), and a brushed polyester inner. Anything less and the wearer sweats through it on a Limassol February climb up to the Troodos ski centre. Look for fully-taped seams, a YKK Aquaguard zip, and adjustable Velcro cuffs — these are the details that distinguish a corporate-grade jacket from a promotional one.
Padded bombers use 100% nylon or polyester face with a 220–280 gsm polyester fill (DownTouch recycled fill is the sustainable option). Critical details: an interior zip pocket for valuables, a chin guard at the top of the main zip (no one wants a metal zip on their chin on a windy Limassol Marina shift), and a two-way zip for sitting comfortably.
Branding placement
Chest-left embroidery at 80 × 60 mm is the safe default and reads from a distance against a softshell face. Right-sleeve placement at 60 × 30 mm gives a small identity hit. For event or team jackets we add a back-yoke print at 280 mm wide — keep it tonal, since a high-contrast back print on a dark jacket looks loud in a Limassol restaurant.
Embroidery on softshell needs a specialist needle and a tear-away backing — the spandex in the face will pucker badly without it. We charge a small per-unit upcharge (0.60–1.20 EUR) for embroidery on stretch face fabric vs flat weave.

Cyprus-specific context
Branded jackets in Cyprus split across four distinct buyer clusters. Paphos and Troodos outdoor activity operators (hiking, mountain biking, jeep safari) need 3-layer softshells in 50–200 unit batches, re-issued annually for autumn season. Limassol Tech Park and Nicosia logistics firms order softshells and bombers quarterly for client-facing staff. Hotel groups in Paphos and Limassol order padded bombers for winter season uniforms (October–March). Event and welcome-kit buyers prefer the 2.5-layer rain jacket — it packs small, photographs well, and the cost-per-unit is low enough for 200–500 unit campaigns around IFX EXPO and Reflect Festival.
Frequently asked questions
Softshell or padded bomber for a Limassol Marina crew?
Softshell for active outdoor shifts — windproof, breathable, layers over a fleece or hoodie. Padded bomber for front-of-house and customer-facing roles where warmth and a polished look matter more than breathability. For most mixed-use teams we recommend a 70/30 split.
How waterproof does a softshell need to be for a Paphos winter?
5,000 mm hydrostatic head minimum — handles a Paphos December downpour for 1–2 hours. For all-day rain (rare in Cyprus, but it happens at altitude) go to 10,000 mm. Anything below 3,000 mm will wet through in 15 minutes.
Can you embroider a complex crest on a softshell chest?
Yes, with a specialist stretch-back stabiliser. We digitise the logo at +5–10% stitch underlay to prevent distortion when the fabric relaxes. There is a small per-unit upcharge (0.60–1.20 EUR) for stretch-face embroidery.
What about a sustainable jacket option?
GRS-certified recycled polyester softshell (the membrane is still TPU, but the face fabric is recycled). For padded bombers, recycled polyester fill (DownTouch or PrimaLoft Silver Eco) at 220 gsm. Both qualify for ESG reporting with a transaction certificate.
How do sizes run on women's vs unisex cut?
Most corporate jacket orders are unisex; women's-specific cut is available from 30 units at no setup premium on the 3-layer softshell. Unisex sizing for jackets runs generous — most women take one size down, and we recommend offering both cuts for mixed teams.
What lead time for 200 jackets before a Q1 hospitality rebrand?
14–18 working days from artwork approval plus a 4–5 day buffer for production sampling on a custom Pantone. For January season-uniform orders placed in October–November, we recommend a strike-off by mid-November to keep the schedule.
