Lead times and scheduling for corporate merch in Cyprus | Merch Cyprus
Realistic working-day lead times for every step from brief to delivery, plus how to compress the timeline when the event is unavoidable.
Lead times in a Cyprus merch programme
Lead times for corporate merch in Cyprus depend on three variables: whether the product is stock or custom, the decoration method, and the freight destination. Most programmes run from two to ten weeks, with the bulk of the time in the custom-production window. This page sets out realistic working-day counts for each scenario, where the time is spent, and how to compress the timeline when an event cannot move.
Stock products with simple branding
Stock products (off-the-shelf blanks from a supplier's catalogue) with simple branding (one-colour logo, one position) are the fastest path to a finished corporate gift.
The blank is shipped from the supplier's warehouse in 1–3 working days for European suppliers and 3–7 working days for non-EU suppliers. The decoration setup (screen, embroidery disc, laser programme) takes 1–2 working days. The decoration run takes 1–3 working days for orders under 500 pieces. Quality control and packing take 1 working day. Freight to Cyprus is 1–3 working days by sea or road.
Total lead time: 5–14 working days from order confirmation to delivery in Cyprus. This is the realistic range; same-week delivery is possible for very small orders (under 100 pieces) at a rush surcharge.
The variable is the supplier's stock. Some stock items are held in EU warehouses (Bursa, Thessaloniki, Milan) and ship in 1–3 working days; others are made-to-order in Asia and ship in 14–30 working days. We always check the stock position before quoting.
Stock products with complex branding
Stock products with multi-colour, multi-position or Pantone-critical branding run longer because the decoration setup is more complex.
For a four-colour screen print on a stock T-shirt, the screen setup is 1 working day per colour (4 days for four colours) plus a registration setup (1 day). The decoration run is 2–4 working days for 500–1,000 pieces. Quality control and packing take 1–2 working days. Freight is 1–3 working days.
Total lead time: 10–20 working days. The bottleneck is the multi-colour screen setup; it is rarely possible to run screens simultaneously because the registration has to be checked sequentially.
For a multi-position embroidery (chest + back + sleeve), the digitisation cost is higher and the production time per piece is longer. A 500-piece order with three embroidery positions runs 15–25 working days.
Custom products from an EU mill
Custom products (Pantone-matched fabric, custom fabric finishes, custom-moulded plastic, custom packaging) are produced at an EU mill and shipped to Cyprus. The lead time is dominated by the mill's production cycle.
Mill order confirmation and raw material procurement: 3–7 working days. Mill production: 10–21 working days depending on the product. Mill QC and export packing: 2–3 working days. Sea freight to Limassol: 3–7 working days. Customs clearance at Larnaca or Limassol port: 1–2 working days. Local decoration (if the product is shipped blank and decorated in Cyprus): 5–10 working days.
Total lead time: 25–50 working days. For a fully custom T-shirt with Pantone-matched fabric, embroidered logo and bespoke packaging, plan 35–50 working days from order to delivery.
The longest pole is the mill's production cycle, which cannot be compressed without paying overtime to the mill workers. We have learned to identify the bottleneck early and plan the programme around it.
Custom products from a non-EU mill
Custom products from a Turkish, Asian or other non-EU mill run longer because of the freight and customs overhead.
Mill production: 14–30 working days. Export packing and dispatch from origin: 2–5 working days. Sea freight: 14–28 working days depending on origin. Customs clearance at Larnaca or Limassol port: 2–5 working days (more if ATR certificate or EUR.1 is required). Local decoration: 5–10 working days.
Total lead time: 40–80 working days. For a fully custom programme from a Chinese mill, plan 60–80 working days from order to delivery.
The freight window is the most variable. Sea freight from Shanghai to Limassol is 28–35 days; from Istanbul it is 5–10 days; from Mumbai it is 14–21 days. We recommend air freight for time-sensitive programmes but the cost is 5–10x sea freight.
Decoration-only lead times in Cyprus
Decoration-only programmes (the client supplies blank stock; we apply the decoration) are the fastest option because the production step is already done.
For embroidery on client-supplied apparel: 3–7 working days for orders under 500 pieces, 7–14 working days for 500–2,000 pieces. The bottleneck is the embroidery machine capacity.
For screen printing on client-supplied apparel: 3–5 working days for 500 pieces, 5–10 working days for 1,000 pieces. Multi-colour prints run 50–100% longer.
For laser engraving on client-supplied items: 2–5 working days for 500 pieces, 5–10 working days for 1,000 pieces.
For UV printing on client-supplied items: 2–4 working days for 500 pieces, 4–7 working days for 1,000 pieces.
We hold decoration capacity at our Limassol workshop for clients with ongoing programmes. The reserved capacity means shorter lead times for repeat orders.
How to compress the timeline
Three patterns compress the timeline when the event date is fixed.
First, run the strike-off and the bulk production in parallel. This is possible when the supplier holds the blank inventory and the decoration is the same as a previous approved programme. We confirm the strike-off in writing (a 'waiver' approval based on a previous programme) and start serial production while the strike-off is in transit. Saves 5–10 working days.
Second, ship by air instead of sea. Air freight from Istanbul to Larnaca is 1–2 working days; from Shanghai via Larnaca International Airport (LCA) is 3–5 working days. The cost is 5–10x sea freight but the timeline is dramatically shorter. We recommend air freight for urgent programmes above 1,000 pieces.
Third, run the decoration in Cyprus on imported blanks. Ship the blanks by sea (cheap) and decorate them in Cyprus (fast). This pattern works well for custom-fabric programmes where the fabric is the long pole and the decoration is short. The lead time is mill production + sea freight + Cyprus decoration, which is often shorter than mill production + decoration + air freight.
Frequently asked questions
What is the fastest possible lead time for a small order?
5–7 working days for a stock product with simple laser engraving or embroidery. We hold small-batch blank inventory at our Limassol workshop for this scenario. Rush surcharge is 25–35% on the standard price.
How long does a custom Pantone polo take?
30–50 working days from order confirmation to delivery in Cyprus. The mill production is 14–21 days, sea freight 3–7 days, decoration and QC 5–10 days. Air freight saves 5–7 days but adds 8–12% to the unit cost.
Can you deliver to a hotel or event venue directly?
Yes. We coordinate with the venue's receiving team and require a delivery window (typically 2–4 hours), a contact name, and any venue-specific access requirements. We deliver in unmarked vehicles for confidential deliveries and can stage goods at the venue ahead of the event.
What is the lead time for a Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) listed company?
Same as for any corporate client. We do not differentiate by client type. The key drivers are stock vs custom, decoration method and freight. CSE-listed companies often have stricter procurement processes (3 quotes, board approval) which can add 10–20 working days on the client side, but the supplier-side lead time is unchanged.
Can you handle a multi-location delivery in Cyprus?
Yes. We deliver to Limassol, Nicosia, Larnaca and Paphos in the same day for orders received before 10:00. For multi-location deliveries, we add €5–€10 per additional drop. For 10+ locations we move to a dedicated vehicle and driver for the day.
What happens if the goods are late?
We communicate proactively. If a milestone slips, we tell the client within 24 hours with the new ETA and the reason. We do not promise dates we cannot keep. For genuine emergencies (a hotel opens tomorrow, a conference starts tonight), we have a express emergency dispatch service in Limassol and Nicosia.
Is Corp-Merch a partner or official sponsor of any events or brands covered on this page?
No. Corp-Merch coordinates merchandise-side work in B2B programmes and is independent of event organisers and brand owners.
